Viva Coffee Company.

With four generations of coffee growing behind us, Viva Coffee Company was created in August of 2017.  It was the answer to the questions that so many friends and family asked when we traveled to visit our family in Colombia. "How can we have access to your high quality coffee?", "Can you bring us some coffee?", and “Why are you not working with your family business?"  At that time we did not have an answer, but we were always ready to share a good cup of coffee with our friends.

During one of our trips to Colombia, we asked ourselves the same question: “How can we bring the high quality coffee we know and love to the US?”  Viva was created to source, roast and distribute high quality coffee from the best in the field, while helping to improve the lives of coffee growers, partners and stakeholders.

Viva Coffee will be recognized as a brand committed to serve and support organizations that are purposely involved in the production of high quality coffee and the development of new technologies and techniques to increase the traceability of the value chain of coffee and coffee products.

Diego Garcia

Diego is a roaster out of Dacula, Georgia.

Born in the coffee growing region of Colombia, Diego picked coffee cherries as a child for candy money at the family owned farms. He is the 3rd generation of the Echeverry family; whose grandfather bought a small lot in the 1940’s, seeded his first coffee plants, and through hard work grew to 15 farms in Santuario, Risaralda, which is part of the now famous Colombian coffee axis.

Diego had worked in the chemical industry for 7 years before realizing that what happens in the coffee roasting process is a series of chemical reactions that, if done in an educated and systematic way, generates the magical beverage and one of human beings most satisfying sensations.

He is a son of coffee growers, and is passionate about roasting and drinking high quality coffee.

Hector Munoz

Born in Colombia, it is not a surprise that coffee is one of Hector's passions. From his early days, Hector was always surrounded by coffee. His great-grandparents were coffee growers and small town restaurant owners.  They worked their small farms to grow and serve their own crops. Coffee was one of them. With coffee growing families from both sides, the question was always there: How come you're not in the coffee business? Well, Hector ask himself that question many times. After graduating from high school, Hector joined the military in Colombia. After that experience, he embarked in the corporate world and college.  His corporate experience dates more than 26 years. With a track record of success in many corporate areas, from human resources to finance and sales, Hector has a tremendous background on business development, sales and coaching. Hector has been involved in children ministry and also has been part of a youth group for mentoring. Growing up, Hector was always seen with a fresh cup of coffee in his hands and engaging in conversations with his friends and family. For Hector, “The opportunity to share a story around a good quality cup of coffee is one of life's precious moments.”  He wants to support these moments by providing good quality coffee to those who love a good moment in life. With that, he can finally keep the family tradition moving forward. However, another question remains: Why did it take him so long? Well, you can ask him yourself next time you see him. We're sure he would love to share a good cup of Viva Coffee with you and have a precious moment.

A little about our history.

Coffee, the enigmatic beverage discovered by a sheep herder in Ethiopia and that, through the ages, has witnessed empires, royalties and defining moments in history throughout the world, up to the moment in time when Viva Coffee Company was created.

I (Diego) was born in the Colombian coffee axis, Risaralda, more precisely, son of 3 generations of coffee producers. My grandfather started growing coffee in a small lot that his father had left him as an inheritance. Years later, through hard work and dedication, it grew to about 15 farms.  Today, that part of the family business is still up and running, with many of the grandchildren working to continue this great legacy.  Viva Coffee Company is a project that supports this legacy.

Viva Coffee Company is a collection of passion for coffee and an inevitable love for the crop that our parents were raised on.
